The Long & Winding Road

The long and winding road of the 17th Annual St. Louis International Film Festival is coming to an end. There are some seriously great films this weekend to close out the Fest.

The good news is that Cinema St. Louis has had a lot of sellouts and a lot of new people coming to the Festival. They also have a dedicated Cinema Core of Engineers to make sure all the trains are running and keep the Fest chugging away.

All of this means excitement and better films for us in the future.

The only snag I hate about this year is that they have fewer multiple screenings so I have missed some good stuff. I also hate going to Frontenac. The staff is nice there but the mall is a wasteland of snobbery and decay. Presentation wise the screens are not the best and there is not the buzz of energy that there is at The Tivoli.

Still we must be thankful that they support the Festival.

With the home stretch under way this is the time to stay away form the cold and in the dark of the matinee. See some films, have some popcorn and relax!

There still is a lot of neat stuff screening.

I spent the morning freezing as I went to the library to get normal people music for the after party tomorrow night.

I always get request at CSL stuff for pop hits and stuff I would never actually own so htis time I am readying myself.

I even had to face embarrassment from the staff as they checked me out. I think they wanted to take my pulse and see if I had a fever.

This of course leads to an encouraging word to tell all of you to come out for the awards ceremony and after party at The Duck Room tomorrow night. It is free. I will be playing music of all shapes and sizes for people of all ages beginning at 8pm.
