Okay kids, we are in the home stretch. If you have not seen a film at this year's film festival then get to it. There is not much time left.
Since many films will sell out I would get advance tickets for The Wrestler and Brothers Bllom. they have a good word of mouth around them.
Documentaries and local films are on the dockett for today.
Pray the Devil Back to Hell

A stunning documentary that is slated for wide release soon this documantry kicked ass and took names at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film traces the story of Liberis'a peace movement through the eyes of several women activists.
The Thacker Case

Brian Jun, a STL area native comes home with his film about a wrongful death in quiet, out of the way Iowa. The film was filmed around Alton.
Days & Clouds

There is a realy solid group of Italian films in this years festival. Days & Clouds is a moving portrait of marriage and middle age. This may not be a pick me up film but it is a wonderfully shot and emotionally engaging one.

Sean Kelleher is a boxer down on his luck. First he kills a man in the ring during a fight, then he must deal with his son's heart disorder. To make it worse competing in the rough and tumble world of bare knuckle boxing may ber the only way for him to make the scratch needed to save his son. Michael Madsen stars with terrific supporting turns from Richard Chamberlain and Vinnie Jones.

1000 Journals

A SF artist distributes 1000 blank journals at various locales hoping that each will be returned filld with insights from those who write in them. However the whole endeavor blows up when journals are returned from all 50 states and 35 countries. Each journal is a story itself filled with prose, art and musings from all walks of life.
